Abstract
A simulant that includes a carrier and DNA encapsulated in the carrier. Also a method of making a simulant including the steps of providing a carrier and encapsulating DNA in the carrier to produce the simulant.
Claims18
A product comprising:
- a first carrier;
- at least one fluorophore encapsulated in the first carrier;
- and
- at least one DNA barcode encapsulated in the first carrier,
- wherein the first carrier comprises a non-toxic material,
- wherein the product is in an aerosol form and is biosafe,
- wherein the non-toxic material is selected from a group consisting of:
- a vitamin, talc, an antacid, and combinations thereof.

A product comprising:
- a first carrier;
- at least one fluorophore encapsulated in the first carrier;
- at least one DNA barcode encapsulated in the first carrier;
- and
- an additional material selected from the group consisting of:
- an isotope marker, and a sunscreen composition, wherein the additional material is encapsulated in the first carrier,
- wherein the first carrier comprises a non-toxic material,
- wherein the product is in an aerosol form and is biosafe.
5 more elements
A method, comprising:
- providing a first carrier, wherein the first carrier comprises a non-toxic material;
- encapsulating at least one unique DNA barcode in the first carrier;
- encapsulating at least one non-toxic fluorophore in the first carrier;
- and
- aerosolizing the first carrier and the at least one non-toxic fluorophore and the at least one unique DNA barcode encapsulated therein,
- wherein the non-toxic material is selected from a group consisting of:
- a vitamin, talc, an antacid, and combinations thereof.
