Apparatus and systems having a reciprocating valve head assembly and swing adsorption processes related thereto

A swing adsorption vessel comprising:

• a housing defining an interior region, one or more adsorbent beds disposed within the housing;
• a plurality of poppet valve assemblies coupled to the housing, each of the plurality of poppet valve assemblies comprising a valve body;
• a plurality of static valves fixed in a single orientation relative to the valve body;
• a single dynamic poppet valve having a stem coupled to a poppet valve head, wherein the poppet valve head has a plurality of ports with each port aligned to mate with one of the plurality of static valves, the stem being capable of axial movement to (i) provide a fluid flow path through the plurality of ports between the one or more adsorbent beds and a location external to the housing, and (ii) prevent fluid flow through the plurality of ports between the one or more adsorbent beds and a location external to the housing.
