Abstract
A method and system for performing sample rate conversion is provided. The method may include configuring a system to convert a sample rate of a first audio channel of a plurality of audio channels to produce a first audio stream of samples. The system may be dynamically reconfigured to convert a sample rate of a second of the plurality of audio channels to produce a second audio stream of samples, wherein the first and second audio streams are output from the system at the same time. The method may further include arbitrating between request for additional data from the first and second audio stream of samples, where processing of the first channel is suspended when the request corresponds to a second channel that is of higher priority.
Claims27
A method for processing signals, the method comprising:
- configuring a system to convert a sample rate of a first audio channel of a plurality of audio channels to produce a first audio stream of samples;
- and
- dynamically reconfiguring said system to convert a sample rate of a second audio channel of said plurality of audio channels to produce a second audio stream of samples, said reconfiguring comprising suspending sample rate conversion of one of said first and said second audio channels based on a priority setting of one or both of said first and said second audio channels and storing samples associated with the suspended one of said first and said second audio channels to a memory for later processing after sample rate conversion of the one of said first and said second audio channels is restored, and wherein said first and second audio streams are output from said system at the same time.
A machine-readable storage having stored thereon, a computer program having at least one code section for processing signals, the at least one code section being executable by a machine for causing the machine to perform steps comprising:
- configuring a system to convert a sample rate of a first audio channel of a plurality of audio channels to produce a first audio stream of samples;
- and
- dynamically reconfiguring said system to convert a sample rate of a second audio channel of said plurality of audio channels to produce a second audio stream of samples, wherein said reconfiguring comprising suspending sample rate conversion of one of said first and said second audio channels based on a priority setting of one or both of said first and said second audio channels and storing samples associated with the suspended one of said first and said second audio channels to a memory for later processing after sample rate conversion of the one of said first and said second audio channels is restored, and wherein said first and second audio streams are output from said system at the same time.
A system for processing signals, the system comprising:
- one or more circuits that enables configuring a system to convert a sample rate of a first audio channel of a plurality of audio channels to produce a first audio stream of samples;
- and
- said one or more circuits enables dynamically reconfiguring said system to convert a sample rate of a second audio channel of said plurality of audio channels to produce a second audio stream of samples, wherein said reconfiguring comprising suspending sample rate conversion of one of said first and said second audio channels based on a priority setting of one or both of said first and said second audio channels and storing samples associated with the suspended one of said first and said second audio channels to a memory for later processing after sample rate conversion of the one of said first and said second audio channels is restored, and wherein said first and second audio streams are output from said system at the same time.
