Abstract
A sanitary article is disclosed. The sanitary article comprises a disposable, macroscopically three-dimensional sheet. The sheet has a first surface and a second surface. One of the surfaces comprises a macroscopic three-dimensional texture. The macroscopic three-dimensional texture comprises peaks and valleys such that the textured surface may have an Average Peak to Peak Distance in the range of about 3 mm to about 16 mm, an Average Height Differential in the range of 1 mm to about 3 mm, and a Surface Topography Index in the range of about 0.1 to about 5. The sanitary article may comprise a surfactant on the sheet.

An article of manufacture comprising:
- a disposable, macroscopically three-dimensional sheet comprising a first nonwoven substrate and a second nonwoven substrate, wherein the first and second nonwoven substrates are hydroentangled together;
- wherein the sheet has a first surface and a second surface;
- wherein one of the surfaces comprises a macroscopic three-dimensional texture;
- wherein the macroscopic three-dimensional texture comprises peaks and valleys such that the one textured surface has:
- an Average Peak to Peak Distance in the range of 4 mm to about 12 mm;
- a first peak and a first valley having a first height therebetween;
- a second peak and a second valley having a second, different height therebetween;
- an Average Height Differential in the range of about 1 mm to about 3 mm;
- and
- a Surface Topography Index in the range of about 0.01 to about 5;
- wherein the sheet has a CD Elongation value at 500 grams of at least 15%;
- wherein one of the first and second nonwoven substrates comprises polypropylene;
- and
- wherein the other of the first and second nonwoven substrates comprises polyester.
An article of manufacture comprising:
- a disposable, two substrate, nonwoven sheet;
- wherein the first substrate is hydroentangled together with the second substrate;
- wherein the sheet has a first outer surface and a second outer surface;
- wherein one of the outer surfaces comprises a three-dimensional texture;
- wherein the three-dimensional texture comprises peaks and valleys such that the textured surface has:
- an Average Peak to Peak Distance in the range of 4 mm to about 12 mm;
- a first peak and a first valley having a first height therebetween;
- a second peak and a second valley having a second, different height therebetween;
- an Average Height Differential in the range of about 1 mm to about 3mm;
- and
- a Surface Topography Index in the range of about 0.1 to about 5;
- and
- a surfactant applied to the sheet at a low effective level, wherein the low effective level is at least 0.01%, by weight of the sheet;
- and
- wherein the sheet has a CD Elongation value at 500 grams of at least 15%.
An article of manufacture comprising:
- a sheet, comprising:
- a first nonwoven substrate comprising polypropylene;
- a second nonwoven substrate comprising:
- polyester;
- a first surface;
- and
- a second surface;
- wherein one of the first and second surfaces comprises a texture;
- wherein the texture is defined by peaks and valleys such that the textured surface has:
- an Average Peak to Peak Distance in the range of 4 mm to about 12 mm;
- and
- a first peak and a first valley having a first height therebetween;
- a second peak and a second valley having a second, different height therebetween;
- an Average Height Differential in the range of about 1 mm to about 3 mm;
- wherein the first nonwoven substrate and the second nonwoven substrate are hydroentangled with each other to join the first and second nonwoven substrates together;
- and
- a surfactant on the first or second nonwoven substrates;
- wherein the sheet has a CD Elongation value at 500 grams of at least 10%.
A sanitary article comprising:
- a disposable, macroscopically three-dimensional nonwoven sheet comprising:
- a first substrate;
- and
- a second substrate, wherein the first and second substrates are hydroentangled to join the first and second substrates;
- wherein the sheet has a first surface and a second surface;
- wherein one of the surfaces comprises a macroscopic three-dimensional texture;
- wherein the macroscopic three-dimensional texture comprises peaks and valleys such that the textured surface has:
- an Average Peak to Peak Distance in the range of 4 mm to about 12 mm;
- a first peak and a first valley having a first height therebetween;
- a second peak and a second valley having a second, different height therebetween;
- an Average Height Differential in the range of 1 mm to about 3 mm;
- and
- a Surface Topography Index in the range of about 0.01 to about 5;
- and
- a surfactant on the sheet;
- wherein the sheet has a CD Elongation value at 500 grams of at least 6%.
