Abstract
A method of operating an evaporator is described. In evaporator feed water, a Taylor bubble is developed which has an outer surface including a thin film in contact with an inner surface of an outer wall of an evaporator tube. The Taylor bubble is heated as it rises within the evaporator tube so that liquid in the thin film transitions into vapor within the bubble.
Claims11
An evaporator for evaporating a liquid comprising:
- at least one evaporator tube wherein the at least one evaporator tube having a liquid inlet, a vent, a longitudinal axis and an interior wall;
- an evaporation chamber connected to the at least one evaporator tube;
- a compressor located within the evaporation chamber;
- at least one internal center rod to form an annular cylinder space within the at least one evaporator tube within at least one portion of the length of the at least one evaporator tube, wherein the at least one internal center rod located along the at least one evaporator tube longitudinal axis, wherein the at least one internal center rod is approximately half the length of the evaporator tube, wherein the at least one internal center rod is positioned approximately in the top half of the evaporator tube, and wherein the at least one internal center rod further comprising bristles emanating from the rod to form a brush;
- and
- an internal spiral wire within the at least one evaporator tube wherein the internal spiral wire maintains the center rod in position within the at least one evaporator tube.

An evaporator for evaporating a liquid comprising:
- at least one evaporator core layer having an upper and lower surface, wherein the at least one evaporator core layer having a plurality of rib sections, the plurality of rib sections forming channels for directing flow;
- an evaporation chamber connected to the at least one evaporator core layer;
- a compressor located within the evaporation chamber;
- at least one internal center rod to form an annular cylinder space within the at least one evaporator core layer within at least one portion of the evaporator core layer wherein the at least one internal center rod further comprising at least one bristle emanating from the internal center rod to form a brush and wherein the at least one bristle comprising a length wherein the at least one bristle contacts both the upper and lower surface of the at least one evaporator core layer;
- and
- an internal spiral wire within the at least one evaporator core layer wherein the internal spiral wire maintains the center rod in position within the at least one evaporator core layer.

An evaporator for evaporating a liquid comprising:
- at least one evaporator tube wherein the at least one evaporator tube having a liquid inlet, a vent, a longitudinal axis and an interior wall;
- an evaporation chamber connected to the at least one evaporator tube;
- a compressor located within the evaporation chamber;
- at least one cylindrical internal center rod to form an annular cylinder space within the at least one evaporator tube rod within at least one portion of the length of the at least one evaporator tube, wherein the at least one cylindrical internal center rod located along the at least one evaporator tube's longitudinal axis, wherein the at least one cylindrical internal center rod further comprising bristles emanating from the at least one cylindrical rod to form a brush, wherein the at least one cylindrical internal center rod is positioned approximately in the top half of the evaporator tube;
- and
- at least one internal spiral wire within the at least one evaporator tube wherein the at least one internal spiral wire maintains the at least one cylindrical internal center rod in position within the at least one evaporator tube.
