Recording medium device, terminal device, distribution device, control method, and program recording medium

A control method used in a recording medium device storing contents used by terminal devices connected to the recording medium device, comprising the steps of:

• storing contents including a special content;
• storing attributes of the contents, which correspond one-to-one to the contents and among which an attribute of the special content contains content identifying information distinguishing the special content from regular contents;
• storing revocation information including a first region indicating a terminal device restricted from using any content and a second region indicating a terminal device restricted from using the special content;
• acquiring device identifying information from a terminal device connected to the recording medium device, the device identifying information identifying the terminal device;
• outputting usage information to a terminal device connected to the recording medium device, the usage information being necessary for using the special content;
• acquiring the content identifying information from a terminal device connected to the recording medium device;
• and
• (i) when a terminal device attempts to use the special content, performing a first determination as to whether or not the terminal device is restricted from using any content, by comparing the first region of the revocation information with the device identifying information acquired from the terminal device, and when the result of the first determination is affirmative, prohibiting the acquiring of the content identifying information from the terminal device, and
• (ii) when the content identifying information is acquired from the terminal device, performing a second determination as to whether or not the terminal device is restricted from using the special content, by comparing the second region of the revocation information with the device identifying information of the terminal device, and when the result of the second determination is affirmative, prohibiting the outputting of the usage information to the terminal device.

A non-transitory computer readable recording medium storing a control program to be executed by a recording medium device storing contents used by terminal devices connected to the recording medium device, the control program causing the recording medium device to perform the steps of:

• storing contents including a special content;
• storing attributes of the contents, which correspond one-to-one to the contents and among which an attribute of the special content contains content identifying information distinguishing the special content from regular contents;
• storing revocation information including a first region indicating a terminal device restricted from using any content and a second region indicating a terminal device restricted from using the special content;
• acquiring device identifying information from a terminal device connected to the recording medium device, the device identifying information identifying the terminal device;
• outputting usage information to a terminal device connected to the recording medium device, the usage information being necessary for using the special content;
• acquiring the content identifying information from a terminal device connected to the recording medium device;
• and
• (i) when a terminal device attempts to use the special content, performing a first determination as to whether or not the terminal device is restricted from using any content, by comparing the first region of the revocation information with the device identifying information acquired from the terminal device, and when the result of the first determination is affirmative, prohibiting the acquiring of the content identifying information from the terminal device, and
• (ii) when the content identifying information is acquired from the terminal device, performing a second determination as to whether or not the terminal device is restricted from using the special content, by comparing the second region of the revocation information with the device identifying information of the terminal device, and when the result of the second determination is affirmative, prohibiting the outputting of the usage information to the terminal device.
