Unified caller identification across multiple communication modes

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing executable instructions which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:

• acquiring a phone number for a mobile device configured to operate in a first communication mode and a second, different communication mode, wherein the phone number is sent to identify the mobile device when the mobile device places a call in the first communication mode;
• determining that the mobile device is authorized to use the first phone number when operating in the first communication mode;
• placing a call to a destination device from the mobile device in the second communication mode;
• and
• sending the phone number used to identify the mobile device in the first communication mode to the destination device when placing the call to the destination device in the second communication mode based at least in part on determining that the mobile device is authorized to use the first phone number when operating in the first communication mode,
• wherein the mobile device is served by a first service provider when it operates in the first communication mode, and the mobile device is served by a second service provider when it operates in the second communication mode, the second service provider being different from the first service provider.
