Mobile communication in a network-device environment

A method of provisioning contact information associated with one or more contacts of a user of a communication device, the method comprising:

• sending a message to a mobile device associated with the user, wherein the message comprises an authorization code;
• receiving a mobile device identifier and the authorization code from a client processing device;
• in response to receiving the mobile device identifier and the authorization code, requesting, by the processing device, contact information associated with one or more contacts of an address book associated with the user;
• assigning, by the processing device, a direct inward dialing number and a destination name to each contact of the address book;
• and
• updating, in one or more second address books, information useable to contact the user, wherein each second address book corresponds to one of the one or more contacts.

An apparatus for provisioning contact information associated with one or more contacts of a user of a communication device, the apparatus comprising:

• means for sending a message to a mobile device associated with the user, wherein the message comprises an authorization code;
• means for receiving a mobile device identifier and the authorization code;
• means for requesting, by the processing device, contact information associated with one or more contacts of an address book associated with the user in response to receiving the mobile device identifier and the authorization code;
• assigning a direct inward dialing number and a destination name to each contact of the address book;
• and
• means for updating, in one or more second address books, information useable to contact the user, wherein each second address book corresponds to one of the one or more contacts.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium for provisioning contact information associated with one or more contacts of a user of a communication device, an apparatus comprising:

• at least one instruction for sending a message to a mobile device associated with the user, wherein the message comprises an authorization code;
• at least one instruction for receiving a mobile device identifier and the authorization code;
• at least one instruction for requesting, by the processing device, contact information associated with one or more contacts of an address book associated with the user in response to receiving the mobile device identifier and the authorization code;
• at least one instruction for assigning a direct inward dialing number and a destination name to each contact of the address book;
• and
• at least one instruction for updating, in one or more second address books, information useable to contact the user, wherein each second address book corresponds to one of the one or more contacts.
