Abstract
An electroluminescent display panel has pixel circuits for an active matrix driving system. At least one of the pixel circuits has a thin-film transistor in which a portion of a pattern of a metal wiring material above a channel layer of the thin-film transistor is disposed to shield the channel region of the thin-film transistor.
Claims21
An electroluminescent display panel comprising:
- a pixel circuit including:
- a sampling transistor configured to sample an image data;
- a storage capacitor configured to retain a voltage depending on the image data;
- a second transistor configured to control a driving current for an organic EL element according to the image data;
- and
- an auxiliary wiring including a reflective material, the auxiliary wiring arranged on a same layer as a first electrode of the organic EL element,
- wherein the sampling transistor is a thin-film transistor that includes a channel layer and a current terminal, wherein a portion of a metal wiring material above the channel layer is configured to overlap with a channel region of the thin-film transistor,
- wherein a voltage of the portion of a pattern of the metal wiring material is established for which a maximum voltage applied across the portion of the pattern and the current terminal is set to a voltage value that the sampling transistor does not turn on during a period other than a sampling period, and the voltage value is established by taking into consideration a threshold voltage of the sampling transistor that changes with time, and
- wherein the portion of the metal wiring material is configured to shield at least a part of light from an adjacent organic EL element and reflected by the auxiliary wiring.
