Abstract
A distributed antenna system includes a master unit and a plurality of remote units in communication with the master unit. A plurality of sensors are associated with the respective remote units and the sensors include receiver circuitry configured for capturing RF signals from mobile devices and a controller. The sensors are configured for using the RF signals from at least one mobile device captured by the receiver circuitry and determining position information for the at least one mobile device in the distributed antenna system. The receiver circuitry of the sensor includes an RF receiver integrated with a respective remote unit that is operable to receive RF signals from mobile devices for providing RF communications in the distributed antenna system.
Claims18
A distributed antenna system, comprising:
- a master unit;
- a plurality of remote units in communication with the master unit;
- and
- a plurality of sensors associated with respective remote units;
- the sensors including receiver circuitry configured for capturing RF signals from mobile devices and including a controller;
- the sensors configured for using the RF signals from at least one mobile device captured by the receiver circuitry and determining position information for the at least one mobile device in the distributed antenna system;
- the receiver circuitry of a sensor including an RF receiver integrated with a respective remote unit and operable to receive RF signals from mobile devices for providing RF communications in the distributed antenna system.
