Abstract
The present invention is directed to a composition and method which to treat diseases and to enhance a regulated immune response. More particularly, the present invention is drawn to compositions that are based on dendritic cells modified to express an inducible form of a co-stimulatory polypeptide.
Claims19
A method for inducing an immune response in vivo, which comprises administering to a subject a polynucleotide comprising a promoter operably linked to a nucleotide sequence that encodes a chimeric protein and a polynucleotide comprising a nucleotide sequence that encodes an antigen,
- wherein the chimeric protein comprises a membrane targeting region, a multimeric ligand binding region and a CD40 cytoplasmic polypeptide region lacking the CD40 extracellular domain,
- whereby an immune response is induced.
