Abstract
The invention relates to a composition comprising pea protein hydrolysate for the treatment and/or prevention of infection by gastrointestinal pathogens, in particular Helicobacter pylori and/or a disease associated with infection by said gastrointestinal pathogen in mammals.

A method for treatment of infection by Helicobacter pylori and/or a disease associated with infection by Helicobacter pylori in a mammal, comprising orally administering to the mammal a composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a pea protein hydrolysate obtained by hydrolysis with a protease in the absence of chymotrypsin, wherein the pea protein hydrolysate comprises over 35 wt % peptides with a size of between 1 and 2.5 kDa based on total weight of the pea protein hydrolysate.
