Abstract
Disclosed herein are methods and compositions of treating a subject suffering from a wound. In exemplary examples, the method involves elevating MCPIP levels in a subject in need. Elevating MCPIP levels may involve direct administration (e.g. delivery of protein) or indirect administration (e.g. delivery vehicle capable of increasing expression of MCPIP).
Claims7
A topical composition for application to a wound in a subject to promote healing of the wound, the wound composition comprising:
- an effective amount of MCPIP polypeptide for treatment of the wound;
- and
- a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier in a form configured for topical administration to the subject.
A kit comprising:
- a pharmaceutical composition comprising an effective amount of MCPIP for treating a wound and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier;
- and
- instructions directing a user to use of the pharmaceutical composition in the treatment of a wound in a subject.
