Abstract
Provided herein are systems, methods, and compositions related to mixtures of calcium aluminate cements with compositions comprising carbonate. The compositions comprising carbonates may be formed by sequestering carbon dioxide.
Claims25
A cementitious composition, comprising:
- calcium aluminate cement (CAC) and a composition comprising carbonate wherein the composition comprising carbonate comprises a metastable component selected from the group consisting of vaterite, amorphous calcium carbonate, and combination thereof.
A method for forming a cementitious or concrete composition, comprising:
- combining a composition comprising carbonate wherein the composition comprising carbonate comprises a metastable component selected from the group consisting of vaterite, amorphous calcium carbonate, and combination thereof composition, with CAC to produce a cementitious or concrete composition.
