Abstract
A base station transmits message(s) assigning each of at least one secondary cell to a cell group in cell groups comprising a primary cell group and a secondary cell group. The at least one message comprises a pathloss reference for a secondary cell. The pathloss reference is a configurable parameter if the secondary cell is in the primary cell group. The configurable parameter is configurable to a downlink of the secondary cell or the primary cell. The pathloss reference is only configurable as a downlink of the secondary cell if the secondary cell is in the secondary cell group.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- a) transmitting, by a base station configured to communicate employing a plurality of cells, at least one control message to a wireless device in a plurality of wireless devices, said at least one control message:
- i) configured to cause in said wireless device:
- (1) configuration of at least one secondary cell in said plurality of cells;
- and
- (2) assignment of each of said at least one secondary cell to a cell group in a plurality of cell groups, said plurality of cell groups comprising:
- (a) a primary cell group comprising a first subset of said plurality of cells, said first subset comprising a primary cell, uplink signals transmitted by said wireless device in said primary cell group employing a first synchronization signal transmitted on said primary cell;
- and
- (b) a secondary cell group comprising a second subset of said at least one secondary cell, said second subset comprising a reference secondary cell, uplink signals transmitted in said secondary cell group employing a second synchronization signal on said reference secondary cell as a secondary timing reference;
- and
- ii) comprising a plurality of dedicated parameters for a secondary cell in said at least one secondary cell, said plurality of dedicated parameters:
- (1) specific to said wireless device;
- and
- (2) comprising a transmission power pathloss reference employed for transmission power determination of uplink signals of said secondary cell, said transmission power pathloss reference:
- (a) being a configurable parameter if said secondary cell is in said primary cell group, said configurable parameter being configurable to one of the following:
- (i) a downlink of said secondary cell;
- and
- (ii) a downlink of said primary cell;
- and
- (b) being only configurable as a downlink of said secondary cell if said secondary cell is in said secondary cell group;
- and
- b) receiving, by said base station, uplink signals in said secondary cell from said wireless device, transmission power of said uplink signals being determined, at least in part, employing a received power of said transmission power pathloss reference assigned to said secondary cell.

A base station, configured to communicate employing a plurality of cells, comprising:
- a) one or more communication interfaces;
- b) one or more processors;
- and
- c) memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause said base station to:
- i) transmit at least one control message to a wireless device, said at least one control message:
- (1) configured to cause in said wireless device:
- (a) configuration of at least one secondary cell in said plurality of cells;
- and
- (b) assignment of each of said at least one secondary cell to a cell group in a plurality of cell groups, said plurality of cell groups comprising:
- (i) a primary cell group comprising a first subset of said plurality of cells, said first subset comprising a primary cell;
- and
- (ii) a secondary cell group comprising a second subset of said at least one secondary cell;
- and
- (2) comprising a transmission power pathloss reference employed for transmission power determination of uplink signals of a secondary cell in said at least one secondary cell, said transmission power pathloss reference:
- (a) being a configurable parameter if said secondary cell is in said primary cell group, said configurable parameter being configurable to one of the following:
- (i) a downlink of said secondary cell;
- and
- (ii) a downlink of said primary cell;
- and
- (b) being only configurable as a downlink of said secondary cell if said secondary cell is in said secondary cell group;
- and
- ii) receive uplink signals in said secondary cell from said wireless device, transmission power of said uplink signals being determined, at least in part, employing a received power of said transmission power pathloss reference assigned to said secondary cell.

A wireless device comprising:
- a) one or more communication interfaces;
- b) one or more processors;
- and
- c) memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause said wireless device to:
- i) receive at least one control message from a base station, said base station configured to communicate employing a plurality of cells with said wireless device, said at least one control message:
- (1) causing in said wireless device:
- (a) configuration of at least one secondary cell in said plurality of cells;
- and
- (b) assignment of each of said at least one secondary cell to a cell group in a plurality of cell groups, said plurality of cell groups comprising:
- (i) a primary cell group comprising a first subset of said plurality of cells, said first subset comprising a primary cell;
- and
- (ii) a secondary cell group comprising a second subset of said at least one secondary cell;
- and
- (2) comprising a transmission power pathloss reference employed for transmission power determination of uplink signals of a secondary cell in said at least one secondary cell, said transmission power pathloss reference:
- (a) being a configurable parameter if said secondary cell is in said primary cell group, said configurable parameter being configurable to one of the following:
- (i) a downlink of said secondary cell;
- and
- (ii) a downlink of said primary cell;
- and
- (b) being only configurable as a downlink of said secondary cell if said secondary cell is in said secondary cell group;
- and
- ii) transmit to said base station uplink signals in said secondary cell, transmission power of said uplink signals being determined, at least in part, employing a received power of said transmission power pathloss reference assigned to said secondary cell.
