Abstract
This invention discloses a method of increasing production of virus-like particles comprising expressing an avian influenza matrix protein. The invention also comprises methods of making and using said VLPs.
Claims20
A virus-like particle (VLP) comprising an influenza M1 protein and at least one of an influenza hemacelutinin (HA) protein and an influenza neuraminidase (NA) protein, wherein said M1 protein comprises the amino acid residues YKKL at the positions corresponding to positions 100-103 of SEQ ID NO:
- 49, wherein the VLP lacks a viral genome and is non-infectious.
A method of increasing the efficiency of VLP production comprising expressing an influenza M1 protein in a host cell, wherein said M1 protein comprises the amino acid residues YKKL at the positions corresponding to positions 100-103 of SEQ ID NO:
- 49, wherein the VLP comprises the influenza M1 protein and at least one of an influenza hemagglutinin (HA) protein and an influenza neuraminidase (NA) protein, and wherein the VLP lacks a viral genome and is non-infectious.
