Abstract
A user profile for an online gaming service is created. The user profile contains user gaming information received from a first location. The user profile is stored in a database, and the user is permitted to access the user profile from a second location.
Claims20
A method for providing user access to an online user profile of an online gaming service, the method comprising computer-implemented operations of:
- receiving, at the online gaming service and from a first computing device, data indicative of an achievement having been earned corresponding to the user profile, the achievement having been earned locally at the first computing device while the first computing device was not logged into the online gaming service provided by the online gaming service;
- modifying, by the online gaming service, the online user profile for the online gaming service to reflect the achievement having been earned;
- storing, by the online gaming service, the online user profile in a database;
- and
- in response to receiving, by the online gaming service and from a second computing device, a request to access the online user profile, sending, by the online gaming service, the user an indication of the online user profile at the second computing device, the second computing device using a same application programming interface (API) as the first computing device to communicate with the online gaming service.
A system for providing user access to an online user profile of an online gaming service, the system comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory communicatively coupled to the processor, the memory bearing processor-executable instructions that, when executed on the processor, cause the online gaming service at least to:
- receive, from a first computing device, data indicative of an achievement having been earned corresponding to the user profile, the achievement having been earned locally at the first computing device while the first computing device was not logged into an online gaming service provided by the online gaming service;
- modify the online user profile for the online gaming service to reflect the achievement having been earned;
- store the online user profile in a database;
- and
- in response to receiving a request a second computing device to access the online user profile, send the user an indication of the online user profile at the second computing device, the online gaming service communicating with the first and second computing devices according to an application programming interface (API).
A computer-readable storage medium having a physical structure, having computer-readable instructions for managing an online user profile that, when executed upon a computer, cause the computer to perform operations comprising:
- receiving, at an online gaming service and from a first computing device, data indicative of an achievement having been earned corresponding to the user profile, the achievement having been earned locally at the first computing device while the first computing device was not logged into the online gaming service provided by the online gaming service;
- modifying, by the online gaming service, the online user profile for the online gaming service to reflect the achievement having been earned;
- storing, by the online gaming service, the online user profile in a database;
- and
- in response to receiving, by the online gaming service and from a second computing device, a request to access the online user profile, sending, by the online gaming service, the user an indication of the online user profile at the second computing device, the online gaming service communicating with the first and second computing devices according to an application programming interface (API).
