Abstract
A precast concrete storm water assembly comprised of a plurality of modular precast concrete components is provided. More specifically, a fluid collection and containment system is provided that comprises a plurality of underground modules and permeable devices, such as ground level pavers, to allow the ingress of fluid at a predetermined rate. Various permeable and non-permeable conduits are also contemplated for conveying fluid within the system.
Claims8
A system for capturing, storing, and distributing water in a subterranean location, comprising:
- a permeable surface structure positioned above and in operable communication with a plurality of modules;
- a distribution system capable of selectively distributing water from at least one of said plurality of modules to one or more locations;
- wherein said plurality of modules comprise substantially vertical walls that support at least one roof panel to define a containment volume, at least one of said plurality of modules comprising a plurality of openings in said at least one roof panel to allow ingress of water into said at least one of said plurality of modules, said plurality of openings arranged in an unevenly spaced grid comprising rows of openings wherein said rows expand in spacing along a linear direction;
- said plurality of modules being aligned in at least one of a lateral direction and a longitudinal direction such that adjacent modules are in fluid communication;
- and
- a water permeable conduit positioned below said permeable surface structure, said water permeable conduit in operable communication with said permeable surface structure and said plurality of modules.
