Abstract
A hemostatic device, method of making, and method of using for internal and external applications to wounds in the body of a patient to induce hemostasis at an anatomical site.
Claims16
A method for manufacturing a material for assisting hemostasis, comprising:
- rehydrating a particularized dehydrated extracellular matrix (ECM) material derived from an epithelial tissue comprising non-cross linked ECM components, said ECM material further comprising epithelial basement membrane and consisting of one or more layers selected from the group consisting of tunica propria, tunica muscularis mucosa, tunica submucosa, and tunica muscularis;
- and,
- compressing said rehydrated material under a vacuum to form a dehydrated wafer.
