A ceramic composite material comprising a graphene-reinforced ceramic material wherein the ceramic material comprises a ceramic material selected from the group consisting of Si3N4, ZrB2, HfB2, TiB2, NbB2, TiC, ZrC, NbC, HfC, TaC, B4C, and TaB2.
