Abstract
A method and system for producing modified coal combustion products are disclosed. The additives reduce the particle sizes of the coal combustion product and may reduce the amount of un-burned carbon in the coal combustion product, making the modified product useful as an addition to cementitious materials.

A method of producing a modified coal combustion product comprising combusting coal in the presence of a particle size-reducing additive, wherein the modified coal combustion product has an average particle size less than an average particle size of a coal combustion product combusted from the coal without the additive.
