Abstract
An apparatus and a system, as well as a method and article, may operate to transmit a first number of training symbols corresponding to a first number of communication chains to solicit a response including a second number of training symbols corresponding to a second number of communication chains. The first and second number of communication chains may form a portion of a multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) system.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- transmitting, by a first device to a second device, a request to transmit packet having a first number of training symbols corresponding to a number of antennas used by the first device;
- and
- receiving, at the first device from the second device, a clear to send packet having a second number of training symbols corresponding to a number of antennas used by the second device;
- wherein the exchange of the request to send packet and the first number of training symbols corresponding to the number of antennas used by the first device and the clear to send packet and second number of training symbols corresponding to a number of antennas used by the second device is performed without channel state information (CSI) feedback between the first device and the second device.
A method, comprising:
- receiving, at first device from a second device, a request to transmit packet having a first number of training symbols corresponding to a number of antennas used by the second device;
- and
- transmitting, by the first device to the second device, a clear to send packet having a second number of training symbols corresponding to a number of antennas used by the first device;
- wherein the exchange of the request to send packet and the first number of training symbols corresponding to the number of antennas used by the second device and the clear to send packet and second number of training symbols corresponding to a number of antennas used by the first device is performed without channel state information (CSI) feedback between the first device and the second device.
A wireless station (STA), comprising:
- a transmitter configured to transmit to a second wireless station, a request to transmit packet having a first number of training symbols corresponding to a number of antennas used by the STA;
- and
- a receiver configured to receive, from the second wireless station, a clear to send packet having a second number of training symbols corresponding to a number of antennas used by the second device;
- wherein the STA and the second wireless station exchange the request to send packet and the first number of training symbols corresponding to the number of antennas used by the first device and the clear to send packet and second number of training symbols corresponding to a number of antennas used by the second device without channel state information (CSI) feedback between the STA and the second wireless station.
An article including a machine-accessible non-transitory medium having associated information, wherein the information, when accessed, results in a machine performing:
- transmitting, by a first device to a second device, a request to transmit packet having a first number of training symbols corresponding to a number of antennas used by the first device;
- and
- receiving, at the first device from the second device, a clear to send packet having a second number of training symbols corresponding to a number of antennas used by the second device;
- wherein the exchange of the request to send packet and the first number of training symbols corresponding to the number of antennas used by the first device and the clear to send packet and second number of training symbols corresponding to a number of antennas used by the second device is performed without channel state information (CSI) feedback between the first device and the second device.
