A method for processing a multiplex image, the multiplex image comprising at least one first view intended to be viewed by a first eye of an observer and at least one second view intended to be viewed by a second eye of the observer, the two views being spatially sub-sampled according to complementary grids and mutually spatially shifted, the method comprising:
- demultiplexing the multiplex image to extract the first view to be observed by the first eye of the observer and the second view to be viewed by the second eye of the observer;
- and
- for at least one missing pixel of the first view, as a result of sub-sampling during multiplexing of the multiplex image,
- a) performing a determination of a first window of the first view containing the location of the missing pixel and representing a first detail in the first view,
- b) performing a determination of a second window of the second view representing the first detail, of the first window of the first view, in the second view, wherein the second window is shifted by a shift corresponding to a local parallax between the two views associated, with the detail, and
- c) performing a formulation of the missing pixel of the first view by using the pixels of the second window of the second view to determine a value for the missing pixel of the first window, wherein the value is inserted into the first window.
