An antenna assembly is disclosed. The antenna assembly comprises an antenna that includes a radiating element formed on the first major surface of a substrate and connection mechanism for connecting the antenna to an unsevered midspan section of adhesive backed RF distribution cable.

An antenna assembly, comprising
- an antenna that includes a radiating element formed on the first major surface of a substrate and
- connection mechanism for connecting the antenna to an unsevered midspan section of adhesive backed (coaxial or RF distribution) cable, wherein the connection mechanism is a coaxial vampire tap connector comprising a cable engagement body and a detachable tap portion connectable to the cable engagement body by intermating threads on the tap portion and the cable engagement body.
