Abstract
Disclosed is a composition for preventing or treating obesity, dyslipidemia, fatty liver or diabetes, containing an indole-3-carbinol derivative as an active ingredient. The indole-3-carbinol derivative of the present disclosure can be usefully used as a pharmaceutical or functional food composition for preventing or treating obesity, dyslipidemia, fatty liver or diabetes by inhibiting differentiation of preadipocytes and reducing accumulation of triglyceride in cells.

A method for treating obesity, dyslipidemia, fatty liver or diabetes, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a composition comprising an indole-3-carbinol derivative represented by Chemical Formula 1 as an active ingredient:
- wherein R1 is hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl, R2-R5 are hydrogen, R7-R10 are independently hydrogen or halo, R6 is C1-C4 alkyl, C2-C6 alkenyl, phenyl C1-C4 alkyl, 5- or 6-membered heteroaryl C1-C4 alkyl, phenoxy C1-C4 alkyl or C1-C4 alkoxyphenoxy C1-C4 alkyl, and R11 is hydrogen or methyl.
