Abstract
Compounds, compositions, and methods for modulation of Hec1/Nek2 interaction are provided. Especially preferred compounds disrupt Nek2/Hec1 binding and are therefore useful as chemotherapeutic agent for neoplastic diseases.

A antineoplastic compound having a structure according to Formula I
- R1 is ORa, SRa, or —S(O)2Ra;
- Ra is alkyl, aryl, or aryl substituted with alkyl, fluoroalkyl, halogen, or alkoxy;
- R2 and R3 are independently alkyl or halogen, and R4 is hydrogen;
- and
- R5 is optionally substituted pyridyl;
- wherein each of R1, R2, R3, R5, and Ra is independently optionally substituted with alkyl, fluoroalkyl, halogen, or alkoxy.
