Abstract
A combination therapy is provided and is directed to pharmaceutical compositions and methods for administering a combination of an α5β1 antagonist with an α2β1 antagonist to a subject. The methods are for use in inhibiting, preventing, or reversing angiogenesis, as well as in treating cancer. The compositions and methods include a combined administration of VLO4 and VP12 (ECL12).
Claims29
A method of inhibiting angiogenesis in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering in combination to the subject (i) an amount of VLO4 ranging from 0.01 μg/ml-10 μg/ml in combination with (ii) an amount of VP12 (ECL12) ranging from 0.01 μg/ml-10 μg/ml to the subject that would be less than a therapeutically effective amount of the VP12 (ECL12) administered alone;
- and, inhibiting angiogenesis in the subject.
A method of inhibiting the growth of a solid lung tumor in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering in combination to the subject (i) an amount of VLO4 ranging from 0.01 μg/ml-10 μg/ml that would be less than a therapeutically effective amount of the VLO4 administered alone, and (ii) an amount of VP12 (ECL12) ranging from 0.01 μg/ml-10 μg/ml that would be less than a therapeutically effective amount of the VP12 (ECL12) administered alone;
- and, inhibiting growth of the solid lung tumor in the subject.
A method of inhibiting lung tumor invasion in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering in combination to the subject (i) an amount of VLO4 ranging from 0.01 μg/ml-10 μg/ml that would be less than a therapeutically effective amount of the VLO4 administered alone, and (ii) an amount of VP12 (ECL12) ranging from 0.01 μg/ml-10 μg/ml that would be less than a therapeutically effective amount of the VP12 (ECL12) administered alone;
- and, inhibiting lung tumor invasion in the subject.
A method of disrupting angiogenesis in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering an effective amount of VLO4 to the subject.
A method of disrupting angiogenesis in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering in combination to the subject (i) an effective amount of VLO4 ranging from 0.01 μg/ml-10 μg/ml that would be less than a therapeutically effective amount of the VLO4 administered alone, and (ii) an amount of VP12 (ECL12) ranging from 0.01 μg/ml-10 μg/ml;
- and, disrupting angiogenesis in the subject.
