Abstract
A precursor material for the preparation of superconductors based on Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2O8+δ wherein the precursor material which is as close to equilibrium state as possible, i.e., has less than 5% in average 2201 intergrowths in the 2212 phase; in particular, the present invention relates to a precursor material, which is converted to the final conductor by partial melt processing, as well as to a process for the production of the precursor material and the use of the precursor material for preparing superconductors based on Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2O8+δ.
Claims7
Bi2212 precursor material for the preparation of Bi2212 based superconductors comprising:
- 2212 phase having less than 5% in average 2201 intergrowths wherein the precursor material has a nominal composition of Bi 2+x Sr 2−y Ca 1−z Cu 2O8+δ, wherein −0.1≦x≦0.4;
- −0.1≦y≦1.6;
- −0.4≦z≦0.2 and x+y+z=0 and wherein the precursor material is a multiphase material wherein the content of the second phase is 15% or less.
Bi2212 precursor material for the preparation of Bi2212 based superconductors comprising:
- 2212 phase having less than 5% in average 2201 intergrowths wherein the precursor material is suitable as starting material for the preparation of a Bi2212 based superconductor by partial melt process and has a nominal composition of Bi 2+x Sr 2−y Ca 1−z Cu 2O8+δ, wherein −0.1≦x≦0.4;
- −0.1≦y≦1.6;
- −0.4≦z≦0.2 and x+y+z=0.
