Abstract
This document provides devices and methods for processing elongate generally cylindrical food products. For example, this document provides devices and methods for longitudinally cutting sausages, and the sausage designs as cut thereby.
Claims17
A method for making a food product, the method comprising:
- cutting a sausage, the sausage comprising an edible material and an outer surface that is configured generally cylindrically,
- wherein the cutting creates two or more cut planar areas within the edible material,
- wherein each cut planar area within the edible material of the two or more cut planar areas within the edible material is defined by at least two surface areas of the edible material that generally butt against each other while the outer surface is configured generally cylindrically,
- wherein each cut planar area within the edible material of the two or more cut planar areas within the edible material intersects at least one other cut planar area within the edible material of the two or more cut planar areas within the edible material, and
- wherein only one cut planar area within the edible material of the two or more cut planar areas within the edible material intersects the outer surface of the sausage while the outer surface is configured generally cylindrically.
