Abstract
A device and a method for processing an optical lens are proposed, whereby lens-production data and/or geometric data of the lens are determined from desired optical data of the lens when a corresponding activation code is acquired. Preferably, the lens or a block piece and/or an assigned shipping container is/are provided with the activation code and/or other information relative to the lenses that are to be processed.

Apparatus for processing an optical lens,
- with a processing device for cutting or other shape-giving processing of at least one of a front side and rear side of a particular lens to be processed based on geometric or production data,
- wherein the apparatus or a control device of the apparatus has or uses a design module, the design module comprising a design model adapted to receive desired optical data for determining the geometric or production data relating to characteristics of a particular lens for processing of said at least one of the front side and rear side of a particular lens,
- the apparatus further comprising an acquisition device adapted for acquiring an activation code necessary for use of the design model
- wherein the apparatus, control device or design module is adapted to check whether the activation code is for enabling determining of the geometric or production data by said design model based upon the desired optical data of the lens only after acquisition of an activation code that is permissible, and
- wherein the design model uses or is adapted to receive the optical data for a particular lens, and the activation code is required for using the design model for determining the geometric or production data for the lens without the activation code being specific for a particular lens.
Optical lens for processing in a device with a processing device for cutting or other shape-giving processing of at least one of a front side and rear side of the lens, wherein the lens is provided with an activation code for determining geometric data or production data of the lens from the desired optical data of the lens, wherein the lens is assigned an information medium with the activation code, wherein the information medium is arranged in an area of the lens on said at least one of the front side and rear side of the lens that is destroyed or removed in the processing,
- wherein the activation code provides data required for calculating geometric/production data for the lens without being specific for a particular lens, said data being adapted for use by a design module with a design model having optical data for production or processing of said at least one of the front side and rear side of a particular lens to be produced.
Method for processing an optical lens whereby the lens that is to be processed is fed to an apparatus, and desired optical data of the lens are input into the apparatus,
- whereby an activation code necessary for use of the apparatus for processing of the optical lens is acquired,
- whereby the acquired activation code is compared to permissible activation codes,
- whereby only in the case where the compared acquired activation code coincides with a permissible activation code are geometric data of the lens determined from the desired optical data by means of a design module, and production data are generated therefrom or production data are generated directly,
- whereby then a front or rear side of the lens is processed based on the thus generated production data of the device to achieve the desired optical data in the lens
- wherein the activation code provides data required for calculating geometric/production data for the lens without being specific for a particular lens, said data being used by a design module with a design model having optical data for production or processing of said at least one of the front side and rear side of a particular lens to be produced.
