Tracking and releasing resources placed on a deferred unlock list at the end of a transaction

A computer system for minimizing resource locking when batching resource requests in a portable computing device, the system comprising:

• a processor operable for:
• determining that a request is part of a transaction of requests involving a plurality of resources;
• identifying each resource that is part of the request involving multiple resources;
• determining whether a resource has completed processing the request directed at it;
• responsive to determining that the resource has completed processing the request directed at it, allowing the resource to return to an unlocked state while other requests are being processed in the transaction;
• responsive to determining that the resource has not completed processing the request directed at it and has deferred some of the processing to the end of the transaction, adding the resource to a deferred unlock list;
• and
• upon determining that another resource in a current request path of the transaction is dependent on the resource added to the deferred unlock list, adding the other resource to the deferred unlock list.

A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer usable medium having a computer readable program code embodied therein, said computer readable program code adapted to be executed to implement a method for minimizing resource locking when batching resource requests in a portable computing device (“PCD”), said method comprising:

• determining that a request is part of a transaction of requests involving a plurality of resources;
• identifying each resource that is part of the request involving multiple resources;
• determining whether a resource has completed processing the request directed at it;
• responsive to determining that the resource has completed processing the request directed at it, allowing the resource to return to an unlocked state while other requests are being processed in the transaction;
• and
• responsive to determining that the resource has not completed processing the request directed at it and has deferred some of the processing to the end of the transaction, adding the resource to a deferred unlock list;
• and
• upon determining that another resource in a current request path of the transaction is dependent on the resource added to the deferred unlock list, adding the other resource to the deferred unlock list.
