• a document management server that manages a document, the document management server comprising:
• a processor;
• and
• a memory that stores a document database configured to store an electronic document and identification information of the electronic document in a record of the document database;
• an annotation management server that manages an annotation, the annotation management server comprising:
• a processor;
• and
• a memory that stores an annotation database configured to store identification information of the annotation, the identification information of the electronic document associated with the annotation, a first position in a body of the electronic document at which the annotation is provided on the electronic document, a uniform resource locator (URL) that identifies a location of a message that instructs a user to apply a modification to the electronic document, content of the modification to the electronic document applied by the user, and a second position at which the content of the modification is applied to electronic document,
• wherein the content of the modification comprises:
• a character string at the second position prior to application of the modification to the electronic document by the user;
• and
• a character string at the second position after application of the modification to the electronic document by the user;
• and
• a message shared server that manages a message, the message shared server comprising:
• a processor;
• and
• a memory that stores a message database configured to store the message.
