Abstract
Data fields within a trace data set are interpreted by a processor using a data field declaration of each data field that identifies a data type of the respective data field. An actual data value of the interpreted data field is compared with the data field declaration for each interpreted data field. Based upon each comparison, a determination is made as to whether the actual data value of the interpreted data field contains an erroneous data value based upon the data field declaration.
Claims17
A method, comprising:
- interpreting, via a processor, data fields within a trace data set using a data field declaration of each data field that identifies a data type of the respective data field;
- comparing, for each interpreted data field, an actual data value of the interpreted data field with the data field declaration;
- determining, based upon each comparison, whether the actual data value of the interpreted data field contains an erroneous data value based upon the data field declaration;
- determining that at least one actual data value violates the data field declaration and contains the erroneous data value;
- and
- highlighting, in response to determining that the at least one actual data value violates the data field declaration and contains the erroneous data value, the at least one actual data value within the interpreted trace data set.
A system, comprising:
- a memory that stores a trace data set;
- and
- a processor programmed to:
- interpret data fields within the trace data set using a data field declaration of each data field that identifies a data type of the respective data field;
- compare, for each interpreted data field, an actual data value of the interpreted data field with the data field declaration;
- determine, based upon each comparison, whether the actual data value of the interpreted data field contains an erroneous data value based upon the data field declaration;
- determine that at least one actual data value violates the data field declaration and contains the erroneous data value;
- and
- highlight, in response to determining that the at least one actual data value violates the data field declaration and contains the erroneous data value, the at least one actual data value within the interpreted trace data set.
A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer readable storage medium including computer readable program code, where the computer readable program code when executed on a computer causes the computer to:
- interpret data fields within a trace data set using a data field declaration of each data field that identifies a data type of the respective data field;
- compare, for each interpreted data field, an actual data value of the interpreted data field with the data field declaration;
- determine, based upon each comparison, whether the actual data value of the interpreted data field contains an erroneous data value based upon the data field declaration;
- determine that at least one actual data value violates the data field declaration and contains the erroneous data value;
- and
- highlight, in response to determining that the at least one actual data value violates the data field declaration and contains the erroneous data value, the at least one actual data value within the interpreted trace data set.
