Abstract
A method for diagnosing the development of a tissue injury in a subject comprising administering a sample of neoantibodies to the subject's tissue for the purpose of detecting the presence of neoepitopes bearing complement proteins.
Claims18
A method for diagnosing the development of an ocular disorder in a subject, comprising:
- administering to eye tissue of the subject a sample of neoantibodies or fragments thereof that bind to neo-epitopes of neo-epitope bearing complement proteins or fragments deposited on the eye tissue;
- and
- detecting the amount of neoantibodies bound to the neo-epitopes of the neo-epitope bearing complement proteins or fragments, wherein the amount of neoantibodies bound to the neo-epitope bearing complement proteins or fragments is indicative of complement activation and is substantially elevated in a subject with an ocular disorder compared to baseline levels in a control population of subjects without an ocular disorder.
A method for diagnosing the development of an ocular disorder in a subject, comprising:

- and
- detecting the amount of neoantibodies bound to the neo-epitopes of the neo-epitope bearing complement proteins or fragments, wherein the amount of neoantibodies bound to the neo-epitope bearing complement proteins or fragments thereof is indicative of pathological drusen and is substantially elevated in a subject with an ocular disorder compared to baseline levels in a control population without an ocular disorder.
