Claims17
A method of treating a mammal having a disease, disorder or condition of the central nervous system, the method comprising isolating a stromal cell from a bone marrow sample, culturing the cells in the presence of a growth factor selected from the group consisting of NGF, BDNF and EGF, and administering by intravascular administration adjacent to the lesion said stromal cell to said mammal, wherein the cells are not fully differentiated prior to administration and wherein the presence of said stromal cells in the central nervous system of the mammal results in proliferation and differentiation of exogenous bone marrow stromal cells and endogenous neural stem cells, thereby effecting treatment of said disease, disorder or condition.
