Abstract
Disclosed is a mobile device to calculate an energy efficiency degree corresponding to a ratio of an amount of transmission of a data packet to an expected energy consumption, in response to the transmission of the data packet to a base station, to set a threshold value of the energy efficiency degree, and to determine whether to access a channel of the base station, based on the threshold value of the energy efficiency degree.
Claims20
A mobile device, comprising:
- a calculation unit configured to calculate an energy efficiency degree, corresponding to a ratio of an amount of transmission of a data packet to an expected energy consumption, in response to the transmission of the data packet to a base station, wherein the energy efficiency is a ratio of an expected amount of received data to an energy consumption in acquiring a channel to transmit a single data packet;
- a setting unit configured to set a threshold value of the energy efficiency degree;
- and
- a determining unit configured to determine whether to access a channel of the base station, based on the threshold value of the energy efficiency degree.

A method of accessing a channel using a mobile device, the method comprising:
- calculating an energy efficiency degree corresponding to a ratio of an amount of transmission of a data packet to an expected energy consumption, in response to the transmission of the data packet from the mobile device to a base station, wherein the energy efficiency is a ratio of an expected amount of received data to an energy consumption in acquiring a channel to transmit a single data packet;
- setting a threshold value of the energy efficiency degree;
- and
- determining whether the mobile device accesses the channel of the base station, based on the threshold value of the energy efficiency degree.
