Multilayered printed circuit board and method for manufacturing the same

A multilayered printed circuit board comprising:

• a semiconductor device;
• a first resin insulating layer having a recess and accommodating the semiconductor device in the recess, the first resin insulating layer having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface;
• a second resin insulating layer provided on the first surface of the first resin insulating layer;
• a third resin insulating layer formed on the second surface of the first resin insulating layer;
• a conductor circuit provided on the second resin insulating layer;
• a plurality of via holes formed in the second resin insulating layer and electrically connecting the semiconductor device to the conductor circuit formed on the second resin insulating layer;
• and
• a metal layer formed on the second surface of the first resin insulating layer and positioned inside the third resin insulating layer and outside the first resin insulating layer such that the recess extends from the first surface of the first resin insulating layer to the metal layer,
• wherein the metal layer has a portion supporting the semiconductor device in the recess, and the recess has wall surfaces which form a tapered shape diverging from the second surface toward the first surface.
