A pharmaceutical composition comprising triethylenetetramine dihydrochloride having less than 5% impurities and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient.
An isolated triethylenetetramine salt that has a purity of greater than about 99% pure and has less than 10 ppm of heavy metals as determined by USP <231> II.
