Abstract
Cloned filovirus genomic cDNA and methods of using the cDNA are provided. Further provided are noninfectious lipid encapsulated filovirus-based particles.
Claims7
A method to prepare a vaccine comprising filamentous filovirus-like particles, comprising:
- isolating filamentous filovirus-like particles from a mammalian cell contacted with a vector comprising a promoter operably linked to a DNA segment encoding a filovirus matrix protein and a vector comprising a promoter operably linked to a DNA segment encoding a filovirus glycoprotein;
- and preparing a vaccine comprising an amount of the isolated filamentous filovirus-like particles effective to induce an immune response.
A method to prepare a vaccine comprising filamentous filovirus-like particles, comprising:
- isolating filamentous filovirus-like particles from a mammalian cell contacted with a vector comprising a promoter operably linked to a DNA segment encoding a filovirus matrix protein and a vector comprising a promoter operably linked to a DNA segment encoding a filovirus glycoprotein;
- and preparing a vaccine comprising an amount of the isolated filamentous filovirus-like particles effective to induce an immune response, wherein the glycoprotein is a heterologous filovirus glycoprotein.
A vaccine comprising isolated filovirus-like particles comprising filovirus matrix protein and filovirus glycoprotein.
