Multi-radio coexistence

A method for wireless communication, comprising:

• determining a first threshold level of performance of a cellular system communication resources, the first threshold level of performance being an outer loop target error rate;
• determining a second threshold level of performance of an Industrial Scientific and Medical (ISM) band communication resource, the second threshold level of performance being a desired gap rate;
• determining a denial rate for denying first communication attempts of a packet using the cellular system communication resource, in which the denial rate is determined to achieve less than the first threshold level of performance for the cellular communication resource and greater than the second threshold level of performance for the ISM band communication resource;
• and
• allowing the ISM band communication resource to communicate when communication attempts from the cellular system communication resource are denied.

An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:

• means for determining a first threshold level of performance of a cellular system communication resources, the first threshold level of performance being an outer loop target error rate;
• means for determining a second threshold level of performance of an Industrial Scientific and Medical (ISM) band communication resource, the second threshold level of performance being a desired gap rate;
• means for determining a first denial rate for denying first communication attempts of a packet using the cellular system communication resource and means for determining a second denial rate for denying second communication attempts of the packet using the cellular system communication resource, in which the first denial rate and second denial rate are based on the first threshold level of performance and the second threshold level of performance;
• and
• means for allowing the ISM band communication resource to communicate when communication attempts from the cellular system communication resource are denied, the first denial rate and second denial rate being determined to achieve a first threshold level of performance of the cellular system communication resource and a second threshold level of performance of the ISM band communication resource.

An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:

• means for determining a first threshold level of performance of a cellular system communication resources, the first threshold level of performance being an outer loop target error rate;
• means for determining a second threshold level of performance of an Industrial Scientific and Medical (ISM) band communication resource, the second threshold level of performance being a desired gap rate;
• means for determining a denial rate for denying first communication attempts of a packet using the cellular system communication resource, in which the denial rate is determined to achieve less than the first threshold level of performance for the cellular communication resource and greater than the second threshold level of performance for the ISM band communication resource;
• and
• means for allowing the ISM band communication resource to communicate when communication attempts from the cellular system communication resource are denied.

A computer program product configured for wireless communication, the computer program product comprising:

• a non-transitory computer-readable medium having non-transitory program code recorded thereon, the non-transitory program code comprising:
• program code to determine a first threshold level of performance of a cellular system communication resources, the first threshold level of performance being an outer loop target error rate;
• program code to determine a second threshold level of performance of an Industrial Scientific and Medical (ISM) band communication resource, the second threshold level of performance being a desired gap rate;
• program code to determine a first denial rate for denying first communication attempts of a packet using the cellular system communication resource and program code to determine a second denial rate for denying second communication attempts of the packet using the cellular system communication resource, in which the first denial rate and second denial rate are based on the first threshold level of performance and the second threshold level of performance;
• and
• program code to allow the ISM band communication resource to communicate when communication attempts from the cellular system communication resource are denied.

A computer program product configured for wireless communication, the computer program product comprising:

• a non-transitory computer-readable medium having non-transitory program code recorded thereon, the non-transitory program code comprising:
• program code to determine a first threshold level of performance of a cellular system communication resources, the first threshold level of performance being an outer loop target error rate;
• program code to determine a second threshold level of performance of an Industrial Scientific and Medical (ISM) band communication resource, the second threshold level of performance being a desired gap rate;
• program code to determine a denial rate for denying first communication attempts of a packet using the cellular system communication resource, in which the denial rate is determined to achieve less than the first threshold level of performance for the cellular communication resource and greater than the second threshold level of performance for the ISM band communication resource;
• and
• program code to allow the ISM band communication resource to communicate when communication attempts from the cellular system communication resource are denied.

An apparatus configured for wireless communication, the apparatus comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• at least one processor coupled to the memory, the at least one processor being configured:
• to determine a first threshold level of performance of a cellular system communication resources, the first threshold level of performance being an outer loop target error rate;
• to determine a second threshold level of performance of an Industrial Scientific and Medical (ISM) band communication resource, the second threshold level of performance being a desired gap rate;
• to determine a first denial rate for denying first communication attempts of a packet using the cellular system communication resource and to determine a second denial rate for denying second communication attempts of the packet using the cellular system communication resource, in which the first denial rate and second denial rate are based on the first threshold level of performance and the second threshold level of performance;
• and
• to allow the ISM band communication resource to communicate when communication attempts from the cellular system communication resource are denied.

An apparatus configured for wireless communication, the apparatus comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• at least one processor coupled to the memory, the at least one processor being configured:
• to determine a first threshold level of performance of a cellular system communication resources, the first threshold level of performance being an outer loop target error rate;
• to determine a second threshold level of performance of an Industrial Scientific and Medical (ISM) band communication resource, the second threshold level of performance being a desired gap rate;
• to determine a denial rate for denying first communication attempts of a packet using the cellular system communication resource, in which the denial rate is determined to achieve less than the first threshold level of performance for the cellular communication resource and greater than the second threshold level of performance for the ISM band communication resource;
• and
• to allow the ISM band communication resource to communicate when communication attempts from the cellular system communication resource are denied.
