Arrester

An arrester comprising:

• a nonlinear resistive element which is stacked;
• a pair of electrodes respectively arranged on both end sides of the nonlinear resistive element in a stacking direction;
• a plurality of insulation rods arranged so as to surround the nonlinear resistive element, each of the insulation rods having a flat plate shape extending in the stacking direction and including end portions in a dumbbell shape with a width increasing from a center side to an end side in an axial direction at a constant inclination angle and then becoming a constant width thereafter, the insulation rods being fixed by the end portions respectively being fitted into electrode grooves respectively provided on the pair of electrodes;
• and
• an outer cover formed of polymer material and integrally covering at least the nonlinear resistive element, the pair of electrodes, and the insulation rods.
