Motor control device and out-of-step detecting method of stepping motor

A motor control device for controlling an energization state of a coil of each phase for driving a stepping motor having multiple phase coils, the motor control device comprising:

• a measuring unit configured to measure a back electromotive voltage induced at a coil of a phase for which energization is stopped, among the multiple phase coils;
• an acquiring unit configured to acquire temperature information on temperature of the stepping motor or on temperature corresponding to the temperature of the stepping motor;
• and
• a detecting unit configured to detect whether the stepping motor is out of step or not based on a result obtained by the measuring unit and the temperature information acquired by the acquiring unit, wherein the detecting unit comprises:
• a setting unit configured to set a detection criterion regarding out-of step of the stepping motor according to the temperature information acquired by the acquiring unit;
• and
• a comparing unit configured to compare between the result obtained by the measuring unit and the detection criterion set by the setting unit;
• and wherein the detecting unit is configured to perform detection based on a result obtained by the comparing unit.
