Abstract
An ink set is provided which includes a first ink containing a first pigment, water, and a glycol ether having an HLB value, measured by Davies method, in the range of 4.2 to 8.0, and a second ink substantially not containing the glycol ether. The second ink contains a second pigment and water.
Claims7
An ink set comprising:
- a first ink containing a first pigment, water, and a glycol ether having a hydrophile-lipophile balance value, measured by Davies method, in the range of 4.2 to 8.0;
- and
- a second ink substantially not containing the glycol ether, the second ink containing a second pigment and water,
- wherein the glycol ether is selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol monohexyl ether, ethylene glycol monoisohexyl ether, diethylene glycol monohexyl ether, triethylene glycol monohexyl ether, diethylene glycol monoisohexyl ether, triethylene glycol monoisohexyl ether, ethylene glycol monoisoheptyl ether, diethylene glycol monoisoheptyl ether, triethylene glycol monoisoheptyl ether, ethylene glycol monooctyl ether, ethylene glycol monoisooctyl ether, diethylene glycol monoisooctyl ether, triethylene glycol monoisooctyl ether, ethylene glycol mono-2-ethylhexyl ether, diethylene glycol mono-2-ethylhexyl ether, triethylene glycol mono-2-ethylhexyl ether, diethylene glycol mono-2-ethylpentyl ether, ethylene glycol mono-2-ethylpentyl ether, ethylene glycol mono-2-methylpentyl ether and diethylene glycol mono-2-methylpentyl ether.
