Abstract
The invention relates to cosmetic and/or pharmaceutical preparations that contain selected hydrocarbons.

A cosmetic formulation comprising more than 85% by weight, based on the sum of the hydrocarbons present in the cosmetic formulation, of an emollient, wherein the emollient is a linear saturated hydrocarbon selected from the group consisting of n-heptane, n-nonane, n-undecane, n-tridecane, n-pentadecane, n-heptadecane, n-nonadecane, n-heneicosane and n-tricosane and mixtures thereof.
A method of preparing a cosmetic formulations comprising adding to a cosmetic base more than 85% by weight, based on the sum of the hydrocarbons present in the cosmetic formulation, of an emollient, wherein the emollient is a linear saturated hydrocarbon selected from the group consisting of n-heptane, n-nonane, n-undecane, n-tridecane, n-pentadecane, n-heptadecane, n-nonadecane, n-heneicosane and n-tricosane and mixtures thereof.
