Abstract
The present invention relates to compositions, uses thereof, and methods of vaccinating cattle, particularly cows and heifers, against Leptospira borgpetersenii serovar hardjo (type hardjo-bovis) by using Leptospira interrogans serovar hardjo (type hardjoprajitno).

A method of providing protection against, reduction in the incidence, and/or lessening the severity of infection by Leptospira borgpetersenii serovar hardjo type hardjo-bovis in a mammal comprising administering to the mammal an immunogenic composition, wherein the immunogenic composition includes a killed Leptospira interrogans serovar hardjo type hardjoprajitno bacterium but without including Leptospira borgpetersenii serovar hardjo type hardjo-bovis bacterium in said immunogenic compostion.
