The present invention provides compositions and methods relating to or derived from anti-IGF-1R antibodies. In particular embodiments, the invention provides fully human, humanized, or chimeric anti-IGF-1R antibodies that bind human IGF-1R, IGF-1R-binding fragments and derivatives of such antibodies, and IGF-1R-binding polypeptides comprising such fragments. Other embodiments provide nucleic acids encoding such antibodies, antibody fragments and derivatives and polypeptides, cells comprising such polynucleotides, methods of making such antibodies, antibody fragments and derivatives and polypeptides, and methods of using such antibodies, antibody fragments and derivatives and polypeptides, including methods of treating or diagnosing subjects having IGF-1R-related disorders or conditions.
A method of decreasing binding of IGF-1 and IGF-2 to human IGF-1R in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to said subject an isolated anti-IGF-1R antibody, or an isolated antigen-binding fragment thereof, wherein said antibody or fragment comprises a light chain variable region and a heavy chain variable region, and wherein:
A method of decreasing binding of IGF-1 and IGF-2 to human IGF-1R activity in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to said subject an isolated anti-IGF-1R antibody, wherein the light chain of said isolated antibody comprises the variable region of SEQ ID NO:32 and the kappa light chain constant sequence of SEQ ID NO:234, and the heavy chain of said isolated antibody comprises the heavy chain variable region of SEQ ID NO:136 and the IgG1 heavy chain constant sequence of SEQ ID NO:235.
