A compound of formula XIV:
- wherein R is (C2-C8)alkyl;
- or a salt thereof.
A method for preparing a compound of formula I:
- comprising:
- hydrolyzing an ester of formula XIV:
- wherein R is (C1-C8)alkyl or a salt thereof to provide an acid of formula Xa:
- or a salt thereof;
- and
- coupling a compound of formula IX:
- or a salt thereof with the acid of formula Xa or the salt thereof to provide a compound of formula I.
