Cutting device and recording apparatus

A cutting device comprising:

• a conveyance unit configured to convey a recording medium in a conveyance direction;
• a holder unit configured to hold a blade downstream in the conveyance direction, wherein as the holder unit moves in a direction intersecting with the conveyance direction, the blade cuts the recording medium;
• a presser member configured to hold down the recording medium on the upstream side of the conveyance direction of the blade;
• a support unit configured to support the presser member movable to a first position where the presser member holds down the recording medium and to a second position where the presser member does not hold down the recording member;
• and
• a cam configured to move the presser member,
• wherein the cam is moved by a spring to move the presser member to the first position, and the cam is moved by the holder unit in a direction opposite to a moving direction in which the cam is moved by the spring to move the presser member to the second position, and
• wherein the presser member holds down the recording member at least from before the blade starts to cut the recording medium to when the blade is cutting the recording medium.
