System and method for synchronizing an electronic program guide with paused programs

An apparatus for providing a program guide in a video system, the apparatus comprising:

• an audio video streaming device that provides a plurality of channels, each channel including at least one program for display;
• a content scheduler coupled to the audio video streaming device, the content scheduler determining if a pause has been executed, whether the pause applies to each of the plurality of channels, and adjusting an end time for the display of one or more programs;
• and
• a program guide generator coupled to the content scheduler, the program guide generator providing a program guide containing information for a plurality of channels, each channel including information for at least one program, the program guide generator further providing an updated program guide with the adjusted end time for the display of one or more programs.
