Abstract
An embodiment of the invention provides relative bookmarks that are sharable between developers engaged in product development utilizing integrated design environment applications. The relative bookmarks are sharable in that they can be exported, imported, activated and deactivated. The relative bookmarks are relative in that they do not rely on the original code line and contain at least function and/or data flow information, facilitating quick identification of relevant lines of code that have been previously bookmarked. The relative bookmarks can also be utilized to insert breakpoints.
Claims20
An apparatus comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- a computer readable storage medium having computer readable program code embodied therewith and executable by the one or more processors, the computer readable program code comprising:
- computer readable program code configured to provide one or more relative bookmarks for one or more lines of changeable source code, wherein an absolute location of the one or more lines of source code is changeable relative to change in the source code;
- and
- computer readable program code configured to:
- export the one or more relative bookmarks from a first system to one or more code repositories, each of the one or more relative bookmarks comprising a file;
- store the one or more relative bookmarks in the one or more code repositories;
- and
- avail the one or more relative bookmarks for extraction from the one or more code repositories for importation and subsequent use in a second system different from the first system.
A computer program product comprising:
- a computer readable storage medium having computer readable program code embodied therewith, the computer readable program code comprising:
- computer readable program code configured to provide one or more relative bookmarks for one or more lines of changeable source code, wherein an absolute location of the one or more lines of source code is changeable relative to change in the source code;
- and
- computer readable program code configured to:
- export the one or more relative bookmarks from a first system to one or more code repositories, each of the one or more relative bookmarks comprising a file;
- store the one or more relative bookmarks in the one or more code repositories;
- and
- avail the one or more relative bookmarks for extraction from the one or more code repositories for importation and subsequent use in a second system different from the first system.
